Well, they have Hollywood and the plastic music biz in common, I guess. Other than that B and Z are from two entirely different classes of Americans. One a pampered private school rich girl and the other a ghetto rat.
She certainly does not need his money, she probably makes more than he does, and she can't be with him because of the urban myth around black mens' sexuality, because that is afterall, just a myth (it's a huge LIE in fact). So yeah, maybe at the end of a day he is a good guy afterall.

it's not the need for money it's the (erroneous) belief that lots of money is somehow the only indicator of success,
where as truthfully, it only indicates that someone is successful at getting money. nothing more.
